E(x)tra Stuff..

I think it’s interesting, as a reader, to see some of what went into creating the books I enjoy. One thing I realized was just how many versions of the map of Etra/Trone I made before finalizing it. Below is the versions I made in order.

The Paint version of the map was constantly updated, and I didn’t save any of the previous versions. This was the final result before I switched to Inkarnate to make the actual version.

And the final product for book 1..

Book 2’s version of the map was the same, just with a minor change to where the Griffons’ eyrie was.

The original map of Drarke, or Terranova, on Paint before switching to Inkarnate. Paint doesn’t let you remove old things that you added, so that’s why some things are just crossed out. Now that I think about it, I probably could have just erased it..

The first version of Terranova. The Free Cities were added later, as it seemed too empty to me. There had to be some sort of other civilization other than these two kingdoms/empires.

The next version. Added the Free Cities and a little bit of touching up.

The final version. Some minor details added here and there.

All of these maps were made with Inkarnate. I highly recommend them. Even me, with zero artistic capabilities, was able to make decent-looking maps (at least I think they look okay..)
