Celestial Heir Character Sketches (And an Update on Book 2)

Hey! First of all, I’d like to apologize for the lack of updates. The last blog post I made was in the beginning of June. Since then, my personal life has become so busy to the point that I wasn’t working nearly as much as I wanted to on book two. I wanted to share some new artwork and give an update on book two’s progress.

Character Sketches

Character sketches (one for each of the five types of dragons native to Quassa) have been created and are currently available in all eBook and Paperback copies of book one sold going forward. For those of you that already purchased a copy of Tail of Revenge, I made a page on my website showing the sketches here. All five sketches are real characters in the series (Qyne, Tez, Kanimi, and Artin), though the Eagle isn’t present until Scales of Power (book two). Which, honestly, is probably a good thing for her. She has enough to deal with in Stormgulch. 😉

The artwork was created by the incredibly talented Echo Lenora (https://twitter.com/VoiceOf_Dragons). They also created the cover art for book one and two. I highly recommend that you check their artwork out!

Scales of Power Update

I’m currently still buried in the first round of rewrites/edits for book two. It’s taken a lot more editing than I initially anticipated, mainly because it sets the remaining three (potentially four) books of the series up. Luckily, I have a lot more free time to work on this now. Because of that, I won’t completely rule out a late December release, though there’s a good chance that date will be pushed back to January. You can expect more information on this in early December.

Thanks for sticking with me!

  1. YOOOOO an update 😀
(yes I only saw it now, checking the website on a whim; somehow I missed the notif on the mail. Oh well)
    ANYHOW
It’s absolutely understandable that life can happen and push things back. I think I speak for all the fans when I say: take your time. Don’t rush. We’d rather have a better book a bit later :3
(though I wouldn’t be *unhappy* with a December release IF you mnage to polish it by then)
Also, just wanted to ask, since I already got a copy of ToR: will the following books (SoP, WoR and the rest) have these sketches in them?

Thanks for taking the time to write the update. And I wish you the best of luck with the edits :>
    Take care!

    1. Thanks for commenting! Trust me, I don’t plan on rushing to get my edits done. I will say that I’ve already gotten a lot edited since this blog post went out. At my current rate, I’ll (hopefully) be on track to meet that December goal.

All of the books going forward will have the sketches at the beginning, under “A Traveler’s Essential Guide to the Dragons of Quassa.” The only copies that won’t have these sketches are any copies of book one (both eBook and paperback) that were sold prior to November 14th, 2023. Amazon might let you update to the latest version of the eBook (haven’t tested this yet), but none of the paperbacks already sold will have it (obviously).

Again, thanks for the well wishes. Take care as well. I’ll have another update out early December.

      1. Well, if that’s the case, then I’m not missing out on the sketches, which I’ll get with Scales of Power, and my copy of Tail of Revenge is a limited-run never-to-be-printed-again “exclusive” version without them
        I see it as a win-win situation~
